Band 3 Assistant Patient Pathway Coordinator (CAT 1 – ENT, Maxillofacial and Plastic Surgery)
Join the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust as a part‑time Assistant Patient Pathway Coordinator (30 hours per week). This cross‑site role is based at Townlands Memorial Hospital, Henley‑on‑Thames, and Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading.
Job Overview
The role provides comprehensive administrative support throughout the patient journey from referral to discharge, coordinating appointments and improving service efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and support the patient pathway from referral to discharge.
* Complete administrative tasks to ensure a safe and high‑standard operation.
* Apply standard operating procedures (SOPs) and meet defined timescales.
* Communicate effectively with patients, clinicians and multidisciplinary teams.
* Maintain accurate records and provide customer‑focused support.
* Adapt to new skills and support continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
* Essential: NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration/Customer Care or equivalent experience.
* Essential: GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English.
* Essential: Computer literacy.
* Desirable: Computer literacy course (e.g., ECDL).
* Desirable: NHS working experience.
* Desirable: Knowledge of speciality patient pathways.
Knowledge & Skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Understanding of patient priorities and performance targets related to appointments and waiting times.
* Experience with digital dictation systems (desirable).
