Groundworks Supervisor
Location: Witham, Essex

Rate: £240 - £260 per day
Overview
ARC are currently recruiting for an experienced Groundworks Supervisor to join a busy civil engineering and groundworks project based in Witham, Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on supervisor who is comfortable managing site teams, coordinating daily activities, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme. The initial contract is expected to run for approximately 8 weeks, with the possibility of longer‑term work for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervising groundworks operatives and subcontractors on site
* Setting out and checking levels, measurements and dimensions
* Coordinating daily site activities and ensuring works are completed to programme
* Ordering materials and arranging deliveries to site
* Monitoring labour resources and recording staff hours
* Conducting site inspections and maintaining high health and safety standards
* Liaising with site management, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors
* Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings and specifications
* Completing site paperwork, records and progress reports as required
* Assisting with planning upcoming works and identifying potential issues before they impact programme
Requirements
* Valid SSSTS certificate (essential)
* Previous experience supervising groundworks or civil engineering projects
* Strong understanding of levels, measurements and site setting out
* Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
* Good organisational and communication skills
* Experience managing labour, materials and site resources
* Full UK Driving Licence preferred
* CSCS Card
