An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Cardiology Department as a Band 7 Chief Cardiac Clinical Physiologist. Our Cardiology Department performs a wide range of non‑invasive diagnostics. We are a busy department that has opened some of our diagnostics to direct access from Primary Care.

Responsibilities
* Contribute to the echocardiography service and occasionally assist with other cardiac diagnostics performed throughout the department.
* Work independently and have significant experience in performing and reporting echocardiograms.
* Participate in weekend cover as the echo service may be extended to include weekend working in the future as part of a 6/7 day service.
* Work closely with other cardiac physiologists, Lead Clinicians in Cardiology, Consultant Cardiologists and the service manager.
* Provide a range of techniques for recording, measuring and monitoring physiological changes in patients and preparing reports on the results obtained in Adult Echocardiography.
* Encourage further training in the above techniques.
* Communicate with patients, relatives and other staff professionally concerning assessment, treatment and progress, ensuring respect for patient wishes and confidentiality. Act as an efficient role‑model and resource advisor to colleagues. Maintain a sound understanding of quality assurance concepts and develop, implement and maintain quality standards.
* Lead the training and assessment of junior staff, taking a leading role for physiologist lead Exercise Tolerance Test training.
Qualifications
* Accreditation from the British Society of Echocardiography in Adult Echocardiography, or equivalent.
* Significant experience in performing and reporting echocardiograms.
* Ability to work independently within a busy diagnostic department.
