Teacher of Welsh – MPS
Required for April 2026 or sooner if possible

Ysgol Maesydderwen is situated in beautiful south Powys, the catchment area of which includes part of the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Waterfall Country. Ideally situated in the small town of Ystradgynlais, the school is within easy reach of Cardiff, Swansea and South-West Wales.
The Governors are looking to appoint a Teacher of Welsh to join our highly committed Languages Department. The successful candidate will become a member of a department that supports the Learning Leader to raise outcomes in Welsh for all of our learners. The role is a permanent position.

•be confident in planning an appropriate and challenging curriculum;

•has a relentless aspiration to enrich the lives and learning experiences of the learners at Ysgol Maesydderwen;
•is prepared to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the school.

The school has recently had an Estyn Inspection and as a result we were placed in Special Measures. We are now working hard to address the recommendations.
