Staff Nurse, Stroke Unit, Royal Glamorgan Hospital
We are looking for dynamic, forward thinking and committed nurses to join our dedicated teams within our CTM-wide Stroke Unit. The successful candidates will have excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering high quality person centred care.
We have opportunities to develop clinical skills and knowledge in an environment conducive to learning. The unit is currently a 50 bedded facility based at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital. Staff are committed to ongoing professional development and you will benefit from preceptorship and support from an experienced, enthusiastic multi-professional team dedicated to delivering excellent patient care. Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. While the candidate doesn’t need to have skills in Welsh, it is advantageous when short-listing and selecting candidates. This is not fluency, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.

The Health Board operates several shift patterns. The most common are a 12.5 hour shift, inclusive of one 30 minute or two 30-minute unpaid breaks. These shift patterns are subject to review and the Health Board reserves the right to change working arrangements. CTM is committed to meaningful consultation with staff and to making balanced decisions that consider all aspects of our service and workforce.
Location information CTM is located in South Wales, with diverse surroundings and access to urban and rural amenities.
Responsibilities
* Provide direct patient care on the Stroke Unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in line with evidence-based practice.
* Deliver high quality, person-centred care and effectively communicate with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
* Participate in induction periods, buddy nurse arrangements, and Clinical Supervision programmes.
* Support ongoing professional development and contribute to a learning environment for staff and students.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Registered Nurse with valid nursing credential (as applicable to the UK / NHS framework).
* Excellent communication skills and a passion for high-quality patient care.
* Willingness to engage in a preceptorship and multi-professional team support.
* Welsh Skills Desirable as described above.
