SEN 1:1 Tutor (Home & School Settings) – Coalville Area
Location: Coalville and surrounding areas
Hours: School hours (Monday–Friday, daytime only)
Contract Type: Flexible / Part-Time / Term-Time
Pay: Competitive hourly rates depending on experience
About the Role
We are seeking a caring, patient, and motivated SEN 1:1 Tutor to provide personalised support to pupils with additional needs in home and school settings across the Coalville area.
You will work closely with children and young people who may require specialist support due to SEND, SEMH, ASD, ADHD, anxiety, or barriers to accessing mainstream education. The role focuses on helping pupils build confidence, engage in learning, and achieve positive outcomes through tailored 1:1 support.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 tuition sessions
* Adapt learning methods to meet individual pupil needs
* Support pupils both academically and emotionally
* Encourage confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours
* Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and schools
* Keep accurate records of sessions and pupil progress
* Create a safe, supportive, and encouraging learning environment
Requirements
* Experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEND
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Calm, patient, and flexible approach
* Ability to manage behaviour positively and professionally
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
* Access to transport preferred due to travel between locations
Desirable Experience
* Tutoring, teaching, or teaching assistant background
* Experience supporting pupils with:
o Autism (ASD)
o ADHD
o SEMH needs
o Anxiety or emotionally based school avoidance
o Learning difficulties

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
