EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is a subsidiary of Edvance, a joint venture between EDF and Framatome, established in 2018 to design and realize nuclear islands for new projects in France and worldwide.

EDF EPR-E UK is responsible for the design and construction of the nuclear island for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project and for preparing the design replication and engineering activities for the Sizewell C (SZC) project.

At HPC, we are building two new nuclear reactors, representing a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK, providing low-carbon electricity for around six million homes.


Position Overview

The Hierarchical Manager will oversee a team of 5 to 10 engineers from Framatome Limited seconded to EPRE. This role involves managing logistics for these engineers and serving as their primary contact with Framatome. The manager will ensure their roles align with job descriptions and workloads, and facilitate their professional development and well-being.


Responsibilities

1. Team Oversight: Manage and support the engineering team.
2. Logistics Management: Handle holiday bookings, special requests, and training follow-ups.
3. Performance Monitoring: Conduct Performance Development Appraisals to ensure role and workload alignment.
4. Communication: Act as the main contact between engineers and Framatome, ensuring effective communication.
5. Meeting Coordination: Organize team meetings to share updates and address concerns.
6. Reporting: Regularly report to senior management and participate in Framatome managers’ meetings.


Candidate Profile

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience: At least 5 years in a managerial role, preferably in engineering or energy sectors.

Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills; capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.

Attributes: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, proactive team management approach.


Additional Information

Level of education: Master’s degree required.
