We are currently looking to recruit a part-time/ full-time medical receptionist/ administrator to join our team. This post will be based across 2 sites; Middle Chare Surgery based in Chester Le Street and Woodlands Surgery in Rickleton. Exact details on hours and days to be discussed. The successful candidate will be patient focused, a good team player and flexible in their approach.
Main duties of the job
Being adaptable, working well as a team and providing a positive experience are essential for the role of Admin/ Receptionist. Your role will be to deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and makenew and follow-up appointments, action medication queries, repeat prescriptions, onlinerepeat prescription requests in a prompt manner. You will be expected to communicate effectively with patients, medical professionals, hospitals and any other 3rd party providers. You will be responsible for using care navigation to signpost patients to the most appropriate service so they are seen in the quickest most efficient way.

Job responsibilities
You will be responsible for administrative functions,including but not limited to:
Reception duties providing a positive patient experience,information, advice and signposting
Telephone receive and make telephone calls and respond tovoicemails as required
Handling clinical specimens ensuring correct details andappropriate handover
Appointments use GP systems to book, manage and cancelappointments
Patient record management record all patient contacts andensure timely and accurate data entry
Ensure escalation of issues or urgent clinical cases to theappropriate person
Patient administration and filing support patients withpaperwork, registration and record management
Results use of clinical systems to respond to patient resultrequests
Printing, scanning and photocopying ensuring information isuploaded to records
Workflow processing letters and ensuring continuity of care
Patient tasks and emails/E-consults
Prescriptions including repeat prescriptions
Handle sensitive and confidential information
Recognise and report issues relating to safeguardingvulnerable children and adults

Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent GCSE Mathematics & English (C or above)
* AMSPAR Receptionists Qualification
Experience
* Experince of working with in GP Surgery is preferable
