The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced occupational therapist, wishing to specialise in Medicine for Older Adults, to join our team. This post will be based at Stonehouse Hospital however there is a requirement to provide cover to the Clydesdale Community Hospitals as required. The team provides specialist assessment and treatment to our off-site rehabilitation wards. This post requires an enthusiastic individual who is motivated to play a key role in the development of our services.
The post holder will be expected to clinically supervise and share responsibility for the development of junior staff, provide clinical education for our occupational therapy students on placement, as well as being proactive about their own professional development.
We provide an active in-service training programme, regular supervision and support continuing professional development.

What we'll need you to bring
* Registered Occupational Therapist with valid HCPC Registration
* Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
* Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
* Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
* Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
* Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
* Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
* The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
* Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Working knowledge of basic information technology
* Access to car and have Driving Licence.
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have
* Practice education training and experience within the specific care group/speciality
* Evidence of audit, critical appraisal, reflective practice and/or research skills
* Sound knowledge of multi-disciplinary and inter agency team working practices

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Occupational Therapy department within Stonehouse Hospital, however there is a requirement to provide cover to the Clydesdale Community Hospitals as required
The working pattern for this role: Mon-Fri; 08:30-16:30 pro rata
