Working 36.5 hours per week Day Opportunities is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic & passionate person to join our service as a Caretaker - Driver. We have three vacancies at the location below: Ebrook Day Centre – Sutton Coldfield Hockley Skills and Development Centre - Hockley Moseley Day Centre - Moseley We are a day service that supports adults with learning disabilities, complex health needs and autism. Responsibilities: Your role will consist of meeting health and safety standards to ensure a clean and safe building, record daily, weekly, and monthly in line with policies & procedures. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and reporting hazards promptly. Responsible for opening and locking up the building at designated times. Identify broken or faulty equipment and carry out minor repairs; escalate unresolved issues Perform daily and weekly checks, including water temperature monitoring, fire alarm testing, and other health and safety inspections. Accurately read, log, and maintain records of all checks and inspections for compliance and audit purposes. In addition, you will support the service to transport citizens from their homes to the day centre and home again as well as local community activities. Essentials: Experience of general D.I.Y and maintenance Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations and procedures Current clean driving licence Experience of centre, community or voluntary work with adults with specific needs You must hold a category D1 licence or be willing to work towards and successfully complete the qualification within the probationary period (6 months) as it is a statutory requirement.
