Role Description
This is a contract-based remote role for a Mechanical Design Engineer. We’re looking for a mechanical engineer to take full ownership of structural and mechanism design, with an immediate start. You’ll handle both primary and secondary structures using hand calculations, FEA, and Fusion 360 CAD to ensure performance meets all requirements. The role includes leading design reviews, managing supplier and customer interfaces, and overseeing hardware delivery from concept through fabrication, testing, and re-use.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace engineering or a closely related discipline
* Strong capability in design engineering with a proven ability to develop creative and practical technical solutions
* Deep experience in machine design and product development workflows
* Professional background in mechanical engineering with a track record of delivering high quality hardware
* High proficiency in CAD tools, particularly Fusion 360, and comfort producing production ready models and drawings
* Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline
* Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and relevant industry standards
* Strong problem solving ability, attention to detail, and comfort working collaboratively in a remote environment
* Experience managing projects and supporting or mentoring less experienced engineers is considered a significant advantage
