Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Experienced) Location: Rochdale, Lancashire Pay Rate: £90 per day Contract Type: Full-time only, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a team committed to providing high-quality support to young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities in the Rochdale, Lancashire area. The successful candidate will be part of a nurturing environment that empowers students with Autism and other physical disabilities to achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities:
* Support the educational development and emotional well-being of students with high-level needs, including those with non-verbal Autism.
* Work closely with the teaching staff to implement individualized learning plans and strategies to engage and motivate students.
* Use a variety of communication methods to ensure understanding and engagement of students with complex communication needs.
* Assist with personalized care needs of students, including those that require manual handling, while promoting independence.
* Employ behavior management techniques, and where necessary, utilize certified Team Teach strategies to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all.
* Facilitate inclusive education by promoting social interaction and participation in classroom activities.
* Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to review and assess the progress of students, adjusting support as needed.
Requirements:
* Must possess a current DBS on the update service.
* Proven experience working with young people with high-level needs.
* Experience working with non-verbal Autism is preferred but not essential.
* Excellent verbal communication skills are essential for the role.
* Resilience and the ability to adapt to the varying demands of the job.
* Team Teach and manual handling certificates would be advantageous.
