Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, skilled, and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our busy Sedgefield North Community Mental Health Team, providing care/treatment within a recovery framework.
You will need significant experience working with people with mental ill health in a care setting, delivering clinical interventions specific to care pathways. You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You are required to have the ability and experience to manage complex cases in partnership with other agencies and provide clinical leadership to nursing staff within the team. Additionally, you will have developed your clinical skills as a Non-medical prescriber and be practicing at level 2 with prescribing experience in a secondary care setting. You will support service users in their recovery.
You will fully embrace the Community Transformation agenda and encourage ongoing engagement from all staff utilizing effective leadership skills. You are expected to use your own initiative and make decisions independently for this role.
Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will supervise and mentor staff and provide clinical advice. You will be a member of the supercell and take a leadership role in developing the service to meet current health and social care system demands.
Working alongside the team manager, the successful candidate will work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, providing clinical leadership and supporting team members. The role also involves maintaining intervention and therapy services to a defined caseload.
You will be part of a resilient and professional team working collaboratively with internal and external partners to support individuals experiencing deterioration in mental health and their family carers.
You will develop and demonstrate clinical leadership, supervisory, and coaching skills, with comprehensive knowledge of mental health care, the Mental Health Act, and complex risk assessment.
Strong teamwork is essential, requiring networking and partnership with various internal and external agencies.
A commitment to high-quality services and improving people's experiences and outcomes is fundamental to this role.

Qualifications
* Current Professional Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council - RMN / RNLD/ RGN (RNSC - CAMHS only)
* Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor or in progress of achieving
* Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing Clinical Supervision or in progress of achieving
* Postgraduate diploma in a relevant subject or willing to work towards within 2 years
* Within the first year of post, hold a recognised qualification in a governed therapy/advanced clinical qualification (e.g., Intermediate Systemic Family Therapy, Post Grad diploma in CBT, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, NMP)
* Equivalent clinical experience to a Post Grad Diploma/master's level, such as working as a band 6 or above with significant experience, plus relevant CPD
Experience
* Significant experience working with patients with complex needs
