Overview
Deliver impartial drug expertise to support complex investigations.
As our Drugs Expert, you’ll support the force and partner agencies by providing impartial expert evidence and producing detailed statements. You will play a key role in managing risk associated with drugs-related investigations, reviewing cases with integrity and objectivity, particularly in relation to serious and organised crime. In this role, you will also mentor operational Drugs Experts and provide specialist guidance to support major investigations.
(This is a part‑time position, working 22.2 hours per week.)
Responsibilities
* Preparing, reviewing and delivering independent expert evidence to the courts.
* Attending crime scenes to give specialist advice on cannabis farms and chemical/pharmaceutical sites.
* Analysing and reviewing drug‑related investigations providing instruction and feedback at all levels.
Qualifications
* Comprehensive knowledge of controlled drugs with complex investigation experience.
* Excellent communication skills including managing relationships at all levels.
* Experience giving impartial evidence in court and influencing investigation decisions.
