A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Operative, who has fresh produce knowledge, to join our client in Livingston.
This role is a dual cover role, working between the Quality Assurance Department and covering the Line Supervisor role.
This role would suit a candidate who has similar experience and can think on their feet. Relevant experience of working within a fast-paced environment and a good working knowledge of Health and Safety procedures is essential.
Training will be given in both QA Department and Production Department. The successful candidate will be training on the use of a pallet truck and scanner.
Main Responsibilities for QA Cover:
Responsible for carrying out production assessments of products
Record results and allocate according to the customer requirements
To ensure, by inspection, that finished products comply with specification
Conduct inspections accurately as and when required in the production schedule
Calibrate production equipment
Ensure compliance to customer and product specifications as well as effective problem solving, training and technical assistance as required
Address problems as soon as they arise with Line Supervisors, Quality Manager and Production Management on an ongoing basis
Main Responsibilities for Line Supervisor Cover:
Check daily orders and allocate personnel to tasks
To set a pace and work alongside the staff ensuring the job is being done effectively and efficiently whilst work Safety standards are being met
Ensure that all products are being checked and packed properly to Customer Specification
Fill in relevant paperwork needed for productivity
To conform to the Personnel Hygiene and Housekeeping Notice and Declaration
To ensure working area is kept tidy to comply with Health & Safety
Cover for supervisors if absent and work hands on if required

Ability to organise self and others
Flexible
Previous experience in food production environment
Very good English communication skills
Experience of working in a busy working environment
Reliable, trustworthy and honest with a mature approach to work
At times the position requires some confidentiality, and it is important that this adhered to.
Other Information:
Full training will be provided
Must be computer literate
Some degree of flexibility will be required in terms of shifts and hours of work, to meet the demands of the business
Pallet truck training will be provided for Line Supervisor part of this position
