Industrial – Producing components for water pumps, rivets, and pens.
Pharmaceutical – Manufacturing components for asthma inhalers, producing over 600 million units annually and holding a major share of the UK market.
All components are pressed from strip metal on-site, then washed, packaged, and distributed. The company supplies several major global clients and is part of a large European manufacturing group.
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Grinder to join a modern toolroom facility.
This key role is responsible for producing high-quality press tooling to support two on-site press shop operations, ensuring precision, reliability, and quality in line with customer and regulatory requirements.
You will contribute to world-class manufacturing performance by enhancing safety, quality, and delivery, while maintaining cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Program, set, and operate CNC grinding machines to fine tolerances.
Produce high-quality press tooling to support in-house production operations.
Perform CNC and manual grinding, ensuring machines are maintained and operated safely.
Continuously improve grinding techniques and processes for efficiency and quality.
Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to meet targets.
Maintain accurate operational and quality records.
Support apprentices with training in grinding techniques.
Promote a proactive approach to continuous improvement and workplace safety.
Hours & Shift Pattern
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Shifts: Rotating weekly (6am–2pm and 2pm–10pm)
Hours: 40 per week
Travel: Minimal / No stay away
Remuneration & Benefits
Salary: £44,804.99 per annum
Annual Pay Review: Every July (performance dependent)
Bonus: Annual bonus after two years of service
Holiday: 26 days + Bank Holidays (includes Christmas shutdown)
Pension: 8% employer contribution / 4% employee
