As part of our continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Financial Accountant to join our team. Were seeking a proactive, detail-focused Financial Accountant to play a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting. Youll take ownership of consolidated accounts, tax compliance, cashflow management, and year-end audit preparation, working closely with a supportive finance team. This is a hands-on role with variety, ideal for someone who enjoys both the fine detail and the broader financial picture. Key Responsibilities Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial records. Prepare monthly consolidated management accounts and year-end financial schedules to support statutory reporting. Play a key role in coordinating external audits, including providing information and responding to auditor queries. Oversee banking and cashflow, ensuring accurate reconciliations, timely payments, and effective intercompany transfers. Oversee tax compliance and reporting across VAT, PAYE, NI, and Corporation Tax, coordinating submissions and maintaining accurate records. Manage the fixed asset register, ensuring all acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation are accurately recorded. Manage operating leases and vehicle payment schedules. Prepare and post journals, accruals, and prepayments. Provide financial insight and support to senior leadership to inform decision-making. Contribute to continuous improvement, streamlining financial processes and enhancing system efficiency. Ensure ongoing compliance with accounting standards and maintain robust internal financial controls. About You ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent). Proven experience preparing financial statements. Strong proficiency with financial systems. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel A proactive, analytical mindset with strong attention to detail. Desirable: Experience using Sage 200 or similar financial systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Power Query, Pivot Tables, able to build and analyse complex reports) Accounting experience in a construction or contracting environment (Knowledge of AFP, retentions, CIS and RVAT).
