We are looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team at our school.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support young children at the start of their educational journey. You will play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn through play, exploration and structured activities.
EYFS Teaching Assistant
Location: Barrowford Salary: £14.25 - £15 per hour Start Date: September 2026 or ASAP Contract: Full-time 8.30am - 3.30pm
Key Responsibilities
* Support the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS learning activities
* Work with children individually and in small groups to support development
* Assist with early reading, phonics and numeracy skills
* Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
* Help maintain a safe, welcoming and stimulating learning environment
* Support observations and assessment in line with EYFS framework
* Assist with personal care where required

About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience working with young children (EYFS or nursery setting preferred)
* Has a good understanding of the EYFS framework
* Is patient, caring and nurturing in their approach
* Can engage children through play and creative activities
* Has strong communication and teamwork skills
* Holds a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (desirable but not essential)
* Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
