Offer description

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified GP to join Coventry North Primary Care Network, a progressive and supportive PCN dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. This post is funded through the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) and its continuation is subject to ongoing NHS ARRS funding. In line with the PCN DES requirements, applicants must be within two years of completing their GP training (CCT). This ensures the role supports GPs at the early stage of their career as intended by the scheme.

You may be based at a single practice, a small group of practices, or work across any of the six Coventry North PCN sites; Allesley Village Surgery, Gables Medicentre, Govind Health Centre, Moseley Avenue Surgery, Park Leys Medical Practice and Springfield Medical Practice, depending on service needs and your development.

In this role, you will work autonomously as a GP while being fully supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team. Coventry North PCN offers a highly supportive environment for newly qualified GPs, helping you consolidate your training, build confidence and continue your professional development. If you are motivated, compassionate and ready to begin your GP career within an innovative, forward-thinking PCN, this is an excellent opportunity.

Main duties of the job

In this ARRS-funded role, you will deliver high-quality clinical care across Coventry North PCN practices. Your work will include face-to-face, telephone and online consultations, managing acute and long-term conditions, triaging patient contacts and making safe, autonomous clinical decisions.

You will manage results, prescribe appropriately, develop care plans and support patients with complex needs. You will also contribute to QOF, enhanced services, audits and wider quality improvement work across the PCN.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, paramedics, social prescribers and other ARRS roles to deliver joined-up, patient-centred care. You will attend meetings, support trainees and maintain high standards of record keeping, safeguarding and governance.

About us

Coventry North PCN is a collaborative, supportive and forward-thinking network with a strong culture of teamwork, continuous learning and high-quality primary care. You will join an environment where open communication, mutual respect and shared problem-solving are central to how we work.

Depending on service needs, you may work at a single practice, a pair of practices or rotate across several sites, giving you valuable exposure to different teams while still being part of one cohesive network. You will work closely with a wide multidisciplinary workforce including ARRS-funded pharmacists, paramedics, social prescribers, nurses and other specialists creating a rich environment for shared learning and development.

We prioritise professional support and development, offering supervision, learning opportunities and a culture that encourages innovation and fresh ideas. This is an excellent environment for a newly qualified GP to grow, gain experience and contribute to improved patient care across the network.
