Construction Project Manager

* Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering / Construction Management.
* A Chartered Member of a relevant professional body (MCIOB, MICE, MRICS).
* Knowledge and understanding of construction contract law and forms of contract through experience and formal training.
* Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management.
* CSCS Card (relevant type). All roles are expected to have the relevant competency skills cards where site-based work is required.
* Extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices.
* Knowledge of Environmental Minimum Requirements (including Code of Construction Practice, etc).
* Understanding of all facets of the construction process with a strong ability for planning.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and promote high standards of HSEQ on the project, monitor and ensure company policies and procedures are in place, and act when required.
* Produce and regularly update the Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan and Management Plans.
* Lead, promote, and empower the Behavioural Safety Culture (BetterTogether) with staff, supply chain, and clients.
* Ensure adequate provision for safety tours/meetings and timely closure of actions.
* Ensure site operations are planned to deliver a safe system of work and that all team members are aware of their responsibilities.
* Understand and ensure compliance with CDM Regulations.
* Ensure work quality meets standards, monitor quality closely, and minimize defects.
* Manage defect rectification and snagging processes efficiently.
* Coordinate with the Commercial Lead on final accounts and invoicing to ensure prompt cash flow.
* Ensure effective handover from pre-construction to delivery teams.
* Participate in project kick-off meetings and delivery workshops to align team understanding and strategy.
* Develop and implement a robust project strategy covering all aspects including procurement, delivery understanding, VE options, variations, and materials management.
* Manage contractual rights and obligations, including bonds and insurance, in collaboration with the Contracts Manager.
