We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in a Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) school. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity for someone who is reliable, patient, and skilled in supporting students with additional needs.
In this role, you will play a vital part in helping students who have faced challenges in mainstream education to re-engage with learning, develop resilience, and build positive relationships.
* Support students in class and through one-to-one sessions, encouraging focus and engagement.
* Use effective behaviour management strategies to create a positive learning environment.
* Build strong, trusting relationships with students, showing empathy and understanding of their individual challenges.
* Assist teachers with lesson delivery, adapting activities to meet a wide range of SEMH needs.
* Provide emotional and behavioural support, helping students manage their emotions constructively.
* Work collaboratively with the wider school team to foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
* Track student progress and share feedback with teaching staff to ensure appropriate support is in place.
* Experience as a Teaching Assistant (or similar role) in an SEMH or SEND setting.
* Strong behaviour management skills, with the ability to remain calm and patient under pressure.
* A genuine passion for supporting young people with SEMH needs.
* Reliability, consistency, and a positive attitude.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
