Site Manager – Southampton

An established main contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead the delivery of a multi‑rise residential scheme in Southampton, valued at up to £10 million. This is a key position on a high‑profile project with an emphasis on quality, safety, and programme delivery.
Role Overview
You will take full responsibility for day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring the project progresses smoothly through the fit‑out stages to completion. You’ll coordinate subcontractors, manage H&S standards, maintain progress against programme, and ensure all works meet strict quality benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all on‑site construction activities from fit‑out to handover
* Lead subcontractor coordination, site logistics, and sequencing
* Uphold the highest health & safety standards and maintain site records
* Monitor progress, report to senior leadership, and drive programme timelines
* Ensure quality control throughout all phases of the residential fit‑out
* Build strong working relationships with consultants, suppliers, and stakeholders
Requirements
* Proven experience in multi‑rise residential construction, particularly during fit‑out stages
* Strong understanding of high‑quality delivery and programme management
* Excellent leadership and communication skills
* Ability to resolve site issues proactively and maintain a safe working environment
* Up‑to‑date site certifications (SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid as a minimum)
