Part-time Nursery Nurse & After School Club Assistant (Level 3 Qualified)

Start Date: September 2023

Interview Date: 11th September 2023

Location: St. Ignatius Catholic Primary School, Ossett Part of the Bishop Konstant Catholic Academy Trust

The Bishop Konstant Catholic Academy Trust comprises of three Secondary Schools and twelve Primary Schools. We have a vision for our Trust that goes beyond our individual academies and that changes our perception from my academy to our academy. Working collaboratively, each academy benefits from others’ strengths and expertise within the Trust, and practically from the services provided and procured centrally.

Working Pattern: 12noon to 3pm and 3.15pm to 5.45pm daily. 27.5 hours per week, term time only.

Comprising of: NURSERY NURSE: 12:00 noon to 3pm – (15 hours/5 days per week, term time only) Salary: Grade 7 - FTE: £27,852 - £30,151. Actual salary (Term time only): £9,571 to £10,361

AFTER SCHOOL CLUB ASSISTANT (Level 3): 3.15pm to 5.45pm (12.5 hours/5 days per week, term time only). Salary: Grade 3 - FTE: £20,812 to £21,189 Actual salary (Term time only): £5,879 to £5,985.

We are looking to appoint a Nursery Nurse and After School Club Supervisor for our amazing Nursery Class and wider school. Working under the direction of the Class Teacher, the ideal Nursery Nurse will be energetic, flexible, positive and patient, with an ability to build strong working relationships with young people and their parents.

The successful candidate will:

• Have experience of working in a similar setting

• Be proactive and empathetic in your approach, always aiming to achieve the best possible outcomes for the children you work with

• Be an excellent communicator and able to work well as part of a wider team

General duties will include collecting and supervising children throughout our After School Club sessions, and encouraging play, friendship and social skills. Dealing with parents at pick up, organising club registers and refreshments, clearing away after the session and other associated duties as required.

The successful candidate needs:

To enjoy working as part of a team, being friendly and polite. To supervise the children, ensuring that they are safe, happy and listened to.

To be prepared to receive safeguarding, first-aid and other relevant training to enhance their role

To show patience, kindness and determination to do the best for all. St Ignatius is a Catholic Primary School and the successful candidate will be expected to be sympathetic towards and supportive of the Christian values of the school although it is not necessary to be a practicing Catholic.
