Teaching Assistant (SEN)

A welcoming and supportive secondary school in the Wolverhampton area is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to young people, particularly those with additional needs.
You will be working closely with students who require additional support, with a particular focus on children with Autism. Your role will involve helping them access learning, manage routines and build confidence in the classroom. You will work alongside teachers, SEN staff and pastoral teams to ensure each student receives the right support at the right time.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one to one or small group support for students with Autism
* Assist in implementing tailored learning strategies and support plans
* Help create a calm, structured and positive environment
* Work collaboratively with teachers to support learning in the classroom
* Encourage independence, emotional regulation and positive behaviour
* Contribute to reviews, observations and progress tracking
What we are looking for:
* Experience working with children with Autism or other additional needs
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Patience, resilience and genuine enthusiasm for helping young people
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team, as well as independently when needed
* Experience supporting students in a secondary school environment is desirable
* A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
