Job Description:
We are ideally seeking an individual who can demonstrate a high level of technical ability and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership skills are also essential as you will be required to assume responsibility at an operational site level, overseeing the respective team(s) of engineers to provide support, develop and motivate.
We prefer the successful candidate to be located in Manchester.
Reporting directly to the Technical Services Manager, you will provide national coverage and play a pivotal role in ensuring HFL's reputation for quality and professionalism.
* Assess project requirements, generate tenders and quotes as needed
* Ensure contractors and service partners meet service and customer care standards
* Manage project costs, budgets, margins, and risks effectively
* Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress reports
* Negotiate with suppliers and contractors for best practices and pricing
* Assist the TSM in leading project teams
* Manage and work closely with subcontractors
* Monitor quality, costs, and progress continuously
* Communicate and report to clients to meet their goals
* Generate CDM documentation for projects and extra works
* Be familiar with project contracts (JCT, NEC, etc.)
* Prepare final project reports, annotate 'as-built' drawings, and contribute to safety and maintenance documentation
* Work with project teams to manage works under CDM regulations
* Deliver company management expectations across technical trades
* Lead initiatives for process improvements
* Develop and maintain technical and regulatory standards
* Coordinate with compliance teams to ensure registration and standards adherence (OFTEC, Gas Safe, F Gas, etc.)
* Collaborate with training providers to ensure industry standards and apprenticeships are maintained
* Complete and manage condition and asset verification reports
* Building service apprenticeship experience preferred
* 3+ years' experience in HVAC/FM field
* Level 4 qualification preferred
* Exceptional customer understanding and solutions delivery
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Analytical and problem-solving skills
* Familiarity with industry trends and market conditions
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
* SSSTS or SMSTS desirable
* IOSH Managing Safely or similar certification
