Assistant Practitioner/Technical Instructor

We are a team of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists working closely with the multidisciplinary team to prevent further deterioration in patients' physical functioning and wellbeing. We cover the areas of Chorley, Preston and South Ribble.
Your role will be to support the Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapists within the team at Longridge Community Hospital including undertaking non-complex assessments and carrying out treatment plans under the direction of the therapists.
We are looking for a flexible Technical Instructor/ Assistant Practitioner who is able to work across a range of settings and has experience working to support Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy interventions within rehabilitation and/ or admission avoidance.
Main duties of the job
The role involves working with patients in their own homes and a variety of community settings including Longridge Hospital. You will require the ability to travel to carry out home visits.
We are looking for a Technical Instructor/ Assistant Practitioner with excellent communication skills and who has the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Assistant Practitioner Qualification or equivalent
* NVQ level 3 or equivalent
* Evidence of continued professional development
Knowledge
* Has knowledge of long term conditions.
* Have knowledge of mental illness and disability.
* Have knowledge of the cultures and religions of the area communities and to work across those cultures.
Experience
* Experience of rehabilitation in the community
* Demonstrates the ability to work with minimum supervision
* Is able to organise own time and workload.
