What you'll be doing: As Trainee Offshore ROV Tooling Technician, you will initially spend time training in the workshop where you will be involved in activities to maintain, test, and prepare ROV tools such as stripping down torque tools, cutters and dredgers to component level. You will also be involved in building new tooling & live simulation testing of tooling, all under the supervision of experienced Technicians. Once you’re fully up to speed on tools, you’ll start transitioning those skills to offshore environments. When offshore you’ll be responsible for operating & mobilising equipment, liaising with clients, problem solving and be a rep of Ashtead. You will be exposed to hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical disciplines and educated on the fundamentals of ROV Tooling. Day to day responsibilities The day to day responsibilities outlined below will be developed over time with guidance, training, and support from peers and senior team members. You will build the skills and knowledge necessary to independently the below over time. Responsible for inspection, testing, repair, and preparation of ROV Tooling Commissioning new ROV tooling equipment Ensuring hire equipment is labelled and identified Preparing and testing ROV equipment for hire Inspecting/Testing and servicing ROV equipment returning from hire Carrying out repairs to ROV equipment Provide Technical support to customers Attend Mobilisations and Site interface testing Support ROV Tooling in offshore locations What experience you'll bring: You have completed an Apprenticeship in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline – desirable, not essential Hands on discipline and/or equivalent industry experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Basic I.T skills Who we are: Established in 1985, Ashtead Technology is a leading provider of subsea equipment rental solutions, advanced underwater technologies, and support services to the global offshore energy sector.
