Job Description
Commercial Finance Manager | £55,000–£60,000 + 10% bonus
You'll know this business. Most people in the UK encounter it regularly without giving it a second thought.
It's a profitable, well-run consumer-facing operation with a strong brand presence and a management team that takes finance seriously. Things are going well — new investment coming in, new revenue streams opening up, and a finance function that needs to grow with it.
This role sits in an interesting corner of the business. You won't be covering the core operation — that's well established and well resourced. This is about taking ownership of a set of commercial income streams that are growing fast and becoming increasingly important to the business. Own the numbers, understand the story behind them, and make sure the right people hear it.
Day to day: monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, balance sheet controls, and building relationships with commercial and operational stakeholders. One direct report. Good access to senior leadership. A clear path upwards for someone who performs.
On culture — and this is worth saying because it's genuinely rare — this is a business that has put serious effort into being a good place to work and has the independent recognition to back it up. Platinum Investors in People accreditation. Consistently ranked as one of the best large companies to work for in the UK. A Wellbeing Award winner. These aren't vanity metrics — they reflect a business where people tend to stay, and where the support structures are real.
What they're looking for:
— Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
— Trading, retail, or multi-site background
— Someone comfortable working with non-finance stakeholders and bringing them with you
— Commercial curiosity — someone who wants to understand the business, not just report on it
The package:
— £55,000–£60,000 + Bonus up to 10%
— Hybrid working 3 days on site
— Pension, life assurance — Some genuinely good soft benefits — full details on application
