At The Orchard School, We are a cross-phase SEMH school (Year 2 to Year 11) in Canterbury, and we are looking for an experienced, relational and values-led practitioner to join us as our new Outdoor Learning and Educational Visits Coordinator.
This is a unique role that brings together the delivery of therapeutic outdoor learning, coordination of off-site visits, and collaboration with our site team to create safe and engaging outdoor environments. It also includes 4 weeks of assistant site management support during the school holiday closures.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Designing and leading outdoor learning rooted in Therapeutic Thinking.
2. Coordinating and quality-assuring educational visits and enrichment activities.
3. Supporting class teams with nature-based interventions and practical curriculum links.
4. Liaising with the buildings team to enhance and maintain outdoor learning spaces.
5. Contributing to site safety and readiness during part of the summer holiday.
We are looking for someone who:
6. Holds a Forest School Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
7. Has experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs.
8. Can plan, deliver and evaluate structured outdoor sessions that support regulation and engagement.
9. Understands behaviour as communication and applies relational practice consistently.
10. Is confident with risk assessment and willing to undertake EVC training (if not already held).
