We are working in partnership with a well-established, forward-thinking main contractor to appoint an experienced Senior Site Manager for a landmark £45m commercial office development in Leeds.
This is a flagship project comprising a high-specification 2-storey office block with a complex basement structure, delivering premium commercial space in a prime city location.
The Company
Our client is a highly respected regional construction business with a strong pipeline of secured work across the North of England. Known for quality delivery, collaborative culture, and repeat business with blue-chip clients, they operate across commercial, education, healthcare, and mixed-use sectors.
Due to continued growth and the award of this significant scheme, they are looking to strengthen the site leadership team with an experienced Senior Site Manager.
The Role
As Senior Site Manager, you will take day-to-day operational responsibility for the project, reporting to the Project Manager. You will oversee site teams and subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing all on-site construction activities
* Coordinating subcontractors and direct labour
* Driving programme and productivity
* Ensuring strict adherence to H&S legislation and company standards
* Managing quality control and inspections
* Leading site meetings and reporting progress
* Supporting client and consultant liaison
This project includes a reinforced concrete basement structure and high-quality commercial fit-out, so experience in similar large-scale commercial builds is essential.
About You
We are seeking a confident, proactive leader with a proven track record delivering major commercial projects.
Essential Experience:
* Experience as Senior Site Manager on £20m+ commercial schemes
* Strong background in RC frame and basement construction
* Excellent subcontractor management skills
* Proven ability to deliver projects to programme
* SMSTS, CSCS (Black or Gold), First Aid
Desirable:
* Experience working in a city-centre environment
* Knowledge of sustainable / BREEAM projects
