Dentaid The Dental Charity is seeking a dynamic regional clinical supervisor in the North East.
We're looking for a GDC registered dental nurse or practice manager who enjoys travelling and wants to lead the delivery of outreach dental care and oral health programmes for under-served communities.
Working with volunteer dental professionals and charity partners, you'll visit drop-in centres, hostels and support services on one of our charity dental units providing dental services for people experiencing homelessness, harm, poverty and abuse who have no other access to care.
You'll also be involved with the delivery of our BrightBites oral health programme, visiting schools, nurseries and community projects in communities experiencing health inequalities.
And you'll have the opportunity to visit dental practices and events to promote volunteering and fundraising that supports our vital work.
About you
You will have a confident and professional personality, embracing the flexibility of nursing while assisting our volunteer dentists, coordinating the clinic, inducting the clinical team, liaising with our charity partners and taking patients' medical histories. You should be passionate about the work of Dentaid and the difference it makes and able to talk to other dental professionals about this. You will be confident in oral health promotion and engaging children in this.
You must be up to date with your knowledge on infection control, safeguarding, medical emergencies and CQC regulations. Experience with Dentally or similar dental software, as well as proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel, is essential. The ability to think on your feet, adapt to arising situations, and remain calm and professional is crucial. We're looking for someone who's happy to travel, delivering care across North East of England, working in area's such as Newcastle, Durham, Scarborough, York and Sunderland. On non clinical days you'll be delivering oral health programmes in your community or visiting local practices to promote Dentaid's work.
