Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Acute Stroke Unit at Fairfield General Hospital. The Acute Stroke Unit is a fast paced environment where patients are admitted for the treatment of a stroke. The unit has 27 beds. The ward has a dedicated nursing team who manage the patients along with our MDT - pharmacy team, therapy team, admin team and medical team and consultants.
We focus on delivering a high standard of care to all our patients, and you will be an active team member in ensuring this. We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic individuals to help support our patients with all aspects of daily living and to encourage independence where possible. This role requires you to work over a 24 hour basis, working days, nights, weekend and bank holidays.
Main responsibilities
* To undertake the role of assisting in the delivery of all aspects of care to ensure patient centred care is delivered safely and in a timely manner.
* To provide clinical support as required to help ensure the efficient and effective running of the unit at all times.
* Assist in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care and enable patients to achieve all aspect of daily living.
