Job Title: Management Accountant Location: Knutsford Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum + exceptional benefits Permanent, Full-time, Fully office based
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a well-established manufacturing business operating across multiple UK sites. This is a highly visible role within a collaborative finance team, offering the opportunity to play a key part in financial reporting, costing, and inventory management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare accurate monthly management accounts in line with internal reporting deadlines.
* Provide detailed analysis and commentary on financial performance, including variance analysis against budget and forecast.
* Reconcile intercompany balances across group entities.
* Partner with operational teams to monitor and forecast overhead costs.
* Support the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors.
* Reconcile stock ledgers to balance sheet and investigate discrepancies.
* Maintain and develop the standard costing system, including materials, labour, and overheads.
* Produce monthly variance reports (including PPV, usage, and labour variances).
* Investigate and resolve stock and costing variances to ensure accuracy.
* Support stock takes, including auditing counts and processing adjustments.
* Prepare postings for e-commerce transactions and profit in stock calculations.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across finance and operations.
About You:
* Part qualified or fully qualified (CIMA, ACCA), qualified by experience (QBE) accountant with strong experience in a similar role.
* Proven background within a manufacturing or stock-focused environment.
* Strong management experience, with the ability to lead, influence, and support stakeholders across the business.
* Strong understanding of ERP systems (experience with integrated systems desirable).
* Experience with cost accounting and inventory processes.
* Advanced Excel skills with a strong analytical mindset.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
* Proactive, inquisitive, and solutions-focused approach.
* Flexible and willing to travel to sites across the UK as required.
