With a strong reputation for quality, compliance, and reliability, the business has built long-standing relationships with major contractors, developers, and housing providers.Providing specialist services including fire stopping, compartmentation, cavity barriers, fire door works, and associated passive fire protection solutions, the company continues to experience sustained growth across the North West and wider UK market. Due to continued expansion and a strong pipeline of secured projects, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of fire protection projects across Manchester and Liverpool.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team within a growing specialist subcontractor operating in the passive fire protection sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute individual capable of taking ownership of multiple projects while supporting the wider commercial function of the business.The successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial management of fire stopping and passive fire protection projects from procurement through to final account, ensuring projects are delivered profitably and in line with contractual requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the commercial delivery of passive fire protection and fire stopping projects from pre-construction through to final accountPrepare subcontractor enquiry packages, analyse quotations, and manage procurement activitiesNegotiate and appoint subcontractors in line with project budgets and programme requirementsManage subcontractor accounts including valuations, variations, payments, and final accountsPrepare and maintain accurate cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projectionsMonitor project costs and identify commercial risks and value engineering opportunitiesEnsure projects are delivered within budget while maximising profitabilityWork closely with operational and project delivery teams to ensure commercial objectives are achievedEnsure contractual compliance and effective administration of subcontract agreementsMaintain accurate commercial records and project documentation throughout the project lifecycleSupport senior management with wider business and commercial objectivesAssist in mentoring junior commercial staff where requiredRequirementsPrevious experience within a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor role within construction or specialist subcontractingFire stopping or passive fire protection experience is essentialPrevious experience working for a subcontractor is essentialStrong understanding of construction contracts and commercial processesProven experience managing subcontractor procurement and accountsAbility to manage multiple projects, reporting, and forecasting independentlyCommercially aware with strong negotiation and communication skillsAbility to work on own initiative within a fast-paced environmentStable career history preferredDegree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management preferredGood IT skills including Excel and commercial reporting systemsDesirable:Knowledge of JCT contractsExperience managing projects across commercial, residential, healthcare, or education sectorsExperience mentoring or supporting junior commercial staffWhy Apply?Excellent opportunity to join a growing and highly respected specialist contractorStrong pipeline of secured fire protection projects across the North WestOpportunity to work within a specialist and expanding sectorSupportive and collaborative team environmentClear progression and long-term career development opportunitiesCompetitive salary and benefits packageApplyIf you're interested in this opportunity, then please get in touch today by applying to the role.We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, experiences, and identities.
