EARLY CAREER GP FELLOWSHIP
(with OOH session opportunities supported by NHS Orkney)
£91,924 pro rata for in hours elements
Sessions undertaken in the OOH period attract an additional pay enhancement
(paid at current OOH pay rates by NHS Orkney)
- Salaried GP Fellowship minimum 12 months, up to 24 months available.
- Six sessions/week (25 hours) in-hours consisting of 4 sessions GP, 1 session specialist interest and 1 session CPD. Equivalent of 1 session/week also available in OOH supported by NHS Orkney.
- Flexible start date.

The Early Career Fellowship provides a fantastic opportunity for recently qualified GPs to work in an established and supportive GP practice, whilst developing a specialist interest and experiencing some OOH work.
Specialist interest component available in:
1. Sexual health
2. Medical education

Skerryvore is a friendly, semi-rural practice based in the beautiful town of Kirkwall providing care to a population of approximately 8,700 patients on the mainland of Orkney. With over 25 years experience as a training practice, we support medical students, foundation doctors and GP trainees. We offer additional care in Sexual Health and Needle Exchange services. Six of our current partners have trained here.
We provide full assistance for GPs requiring sponsorship.
You should be educated to MBChB or equivalent, fully registered with the GMC with a license to practice and hold your Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice. Excellent communication skills are essential as well as a valid driving licence.
