Join Our Client's Team as General Manager! *Advertised by the West End Team*
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of older people? Do you have leadership skills and a heart for service? We are seeking a General Manager for a well-established charity providing housing for seniors for many years.
About the Role:
As the General Manager, you will serve as the key link between residents and the Board of Trustees. You will oversee daily management to ensure residents receive appropriate care and support. This is a permanent, part-time role, offering at least 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
* General Management:
- Coordinate with the Chair of Trustees and report on significant developments.
- Supervise the Assistant Manager.
- Prepare quarterly reports for Trustees with updates on residents and issues.
- Attend quarterly Trustee meetings.
* Resident Engagement:
- Address residents' needs and manage their requests effectively.
- Maintain a waiting list of potential residents.
- Handle admission paperwork and assist new residents with settling in.
- Support residents in obtaining statutory benefits and coordinate with Social Services for additional help.
* Property Maintenance & Supplies:
- Manage utility contracts and negotiate terms with suppliers.
- Oversee repairs and maintenance, supervising contractors.
- Manage garden maintenance within budget.
- Collaborate with the Treasurer on financial controls, cash operations, and payments.
- Manage petty cash, receipts, and assist with investment and payroll calculations.
Qualifications:
* Experience caring for elderly and vulnerable populations with empathy.
* Excellent communication skills for engaging with residents and stakeholders.
* Knowledge of property maintenance, health & safety, and financial management.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
What We Offer:
* Salary of £38,000 (full-time equivalent) plus potential bonus.
* Flexible hours with a minimum of 20 hours weekly.
* Four weeks of holiday per year.
