You’ll be the financial heartbeat of the firm, ensuring all cashiering processes run smoothly and in full compliance with the Law Society of Scotland's Accounts Rules.
Responsibilities will include:
Managing daily legal cashiering operations – ensuring transactions are accurate, timely, and fully compliant
Handling client and office account transactions, including receipts, payments, bank transfers, and reconciliations
Keeping client ledgers accurate and up to date
Collaborating with fee earners and support teams to resolve queries and ensure seamless billing processes
Preparing and submitting VAT returns, reconciling bank statements, and generating financial reports
Supporting the year-end accounting process and liaising with auditors
Managing relationships with banks and overseeing the firm’s financial accounts
Playing a key role in financial risk management and internal audit procedures
Identifying and implementing improvements to systems and processesWhat We’re Looking For:
Solid experience as a Legal Cashier, ideally within a law firm setting
In-depth knowledge of the Law Society of Scotland Accounts Rules
Proficiency in legal accounting software (e.g., Eclipse, LawWare, or similar)
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent time management and organisation skills
