Bromley Schools' Collegiate are actively recruiting for trainee teachers to join our Secondary phase Initial Teacher Training programme starting in September 2024.
Our training programme was established in 1993 and since then, we have trained almost 2500 teachers that have been well-prepared and supported to start an fulfilling career as a teacher.
All of our placement schools are in Bromley and Greenwich and you will be supported by expert mentors every step of your training.

Employment-based route (salaried) – various schools
We are currently recruiting for the following salaried Initial Teacher Training positions:

* Business/Economics
* Chemistry
* Computing
* Design & Technology

* Geography

* Mathematics
* Physics
Starting salary £24,415pa pro-rata for the length of your training contract
(Sept to July subject to individual schools needs)
For the salaried route, you must have the skills and experience to be able to step into a teaching timetable from the very start of the programme.
Alternatively, we are also recruiting for to tuition-fee programme:
The Tuition fee programme will include 2 placements with the first one from September to December and then January to July in a contrasting Secondary school.
For this programme you would be eligible for the Secondary tax-free bursary rates for your specialist subject.
For 2024 to 2025, the bursaries available are:
* £28,000 in Chemistry, Computing, Mathematics and Physics
* £25,000 in Geography and Languages (including ancient languages), Biology and Design & Technology
* £10,000 in English, Art & Design, Music and Religious Education
Applicants may be eligible for a bursary if they have a 1st, 2:1, 2:2, PhD or master’s.
All of our programmes lead to Qualified Teacher Status with a PGCE.
For the tuition fee programme the programme cost is £8,000 for QTS only or £9200 for QTS with a PGCE.
This can be privately funded or through a tuition-fee loan.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a good Degree with a minimum of 2:2 classification (or equivalent)
Maths and English at GCSE C /4
We require 50 % of your undergraduate degree to be in the subject that you wish to teach in the Secondary phase or a good A level pass at grade B or better and evidence of continued subject knowledge development.
