The Job:
As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will:
* Safely operate, repair, rebuild, and maintain company-owned heavy-duty diesel and alternative fuel trucks and equipment.
* Ensure the safe operation of rolling stock to support waste removal and environmental services provided by our drivers.
* Perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair operational difficulties, and complete administrative duties.
* Plan and schedule repairs, review mechanical write-ups, and assist in coordinating repair schedules.
* Respond to service calls and emergent situations in the field.
What’s Required:
Heavy Duty Mechanics should:
* Have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
* Possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a diesel mechanic.
* Be computer literate, trainable on software systems, and willing to learn.
* Meet safety-sensitive function criteria according to company standards.
* Have the ability to use diagnostic software (a plus).
* Follow detailed instructions, work independently, and maintain accurate records.
* Operate any vehicle or equipment necessary to perform the job.
* Possess the physical ability to perform all aspects of the job.
