The University of Glasgow is seeking to appoint a Research Associate within the School of Humanities.
The successful candidate will make a leading contribution to an AHRC-funded BRAID (Bridging Responsible AI Divides) project on the topic of Responsible AI and Indigenous knowledges in libraries. This six-month interdisciplinary scoping project aims to develop a model for responsible AI systems development in libraries seeking to include knowledge from Indigenous communities, specifically Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Australia. Project partners include the University of Glasgow, King’s Digital Lab (King’s College London), The Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research (University of Technology Sydney), and the Digital Preservation Coalition. Applications are encouraged from a range of relevant backgrounds including, but not limited to, Library and Information Studies, Digital Humanities, Cultural Heritage Studies, and Indigenous Studies.
The successful candidate is expected to take a central role in the project team, working alongside Prof. Paul Gooding and collaborating closely with this international group of researchers. The candidate will contribute to collecting, analysing and interpreting project data, formulating and submitting research outputs, collaboratively organising workshops and other engagement activities. They will also help to promote and disseminate project findings as opportunities allow. Opportunities will be offered for career development and mentorship.
This post is full time (35 hrs per week) and has funding for 6 months.
