Job Description:
It will be your role to lead and manage the next stages of the conservation grazing across North Devon including delivering the grazing project elements of the Green Recovery Challenge Fund 2. You will be working alongside the Ranger team for North Devon and Somerset Coast & Countryside, managing the in-hand grazing and caring for the organic status pedigree Longhorn cattle, Exmoor Ponies and Mangalitsa pigs to the highest welfare standards.

* It is not only the internal contacts you will work closely with, as identifying, building and maintaining relationships with the local, national and international organisations which share a common vision with us will be critical.
* Central to the role will be your ability to balance both the demands of managing and developing our grazing ambition, with the demands of a busy, high profile visitor environment.
* You’ll also be responsible for managing the budgets required to deliver this work and for protecting and enhancing the Trust’s assets and reputation.
* This role offers a great opportunity for someone who already has experience of leading a small team with strong practical skills.
* You will be working closely with the ranger team on the ground as well as the National Trust’s Regional Consultancy, which is a home to specialists of every area of our work, which is vast.

* Software used to record and manage livestock. Births, movements and vet meds etc.
* Natural process driven conservation
* Managing livestock in busy public areas
* Extensive conservation grazing systems in an upland and woodland setting
* Working within a protected landscape such as a national park
