Hays is working with a global multidisciplinary consultancy to recruit a Health and Safety Consultant to join either their Glasgow or Edinburgh office.
Your new role
The focus of the role is the delivery of CDM Services, although experience of other Health & Safety Services will be an advantage.
You will be responsible for a series of roles which the client has had in place since the arrival of CDM 2015,encompassing technical and contractual aspects of professional practice. You'll be based in Glasgow or Edinburgh, covering a diverse range of projects and sectors including property, industrial and education.
* Providing Health & Safety Services on both independent commissions and also to complement the wider project delivery services.
* Production of pre-construction information, files and other associated CDM documents
* Ensuring Designer compliance.
* Reviewing contractors’ documentation.
* Interfacing with clients and design teams on a project basis.
* Advise clients on procurement options and consultant appointment issues.
* Pro-active in business development of services within the region, Keep updated with current legal developments in respect of construction and associated law.
What you'll need to succeed
* The client is looking for a consultant with suitable and relevant experience, ideally from a design or construction background. Technical.
* Professional Qualification in Design or Construction.
* NEBOSH qualification (minimum Construction Certificate).
* Preferable Member of APS / IOSH.
* Experience in a similar role.
* Good IT skills and working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the component parts of CDM2015 and other Health & Safety issues.
* Working knowledge of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
* H+S Training capability may be an advantage.
