Planning & Project Controls Manager – London – Water

Due to continued growth and project wins we are recruiting for a Planning & Project Controls Manager who will join the Infrastructure planning team based out of London. What you will be doing:
1. Lead the planning team on a day to day basis
2. Lead roll out and adoption of planning & project controls procedures and processes
3. Line and / or functional management of planners, including the management of external planning resources
4. Inspire and empower individuals within their portfolio to deliver high quality standards and outputs
5. Follow a rigorous and proactive regime of audit and review to ensure planning requirements are followed, minimise non-compliance, drive high standards and ultimately improve project / business performance
6. Manage the proper and controlled use of the Enterprise planning tools
7. Contribute to the development of business unit and sector plans and strategies
8. Develop and maintain effective communication and collaborative relationships with the Client and other project stakeholders (internal and external)
9. Accountable for ensuring that integrated, whole life programmes are prepared from first principles in accordance with the Planning and Work Winning procedures
10. To support the Business and its work winning teams to target, pursue and secure projects
11. To ensure that the work winning governance processes are adhered to in regards to the elements produced by the planning function
12. Endure tender programmes are critically analysed to ensure that the planning and scheduling that underpins them is appropriate, contract / procedurally compliant, robust and obtainable
13. Ensure that integrated, whole life programmes are prepared and maintained from first principles in accordance with the Planning procedure and Contract requirements
14. Ensure that there is accurate and transparent reporting of progress, risk and issues in relation to the programme
15. Ensure that programmes and associated progress reports are regularly updated and submitted to the Client in accordance with the requirements of the contract
16. Follow change control processes in regard to the identification, notification and quantification of time entitlement for delay, disruption and change
17. Ensure there is alignment between Operations, Commercial and Planning resources on projects – single version of the truth
18. Support the proactive identification, management and mitigation of project risks
19. Proactively support the planning and project teams in the identification and resolution of potential and actual risks and issues
Who we are looking for:
Experience as a Planning & Project Controls Manager
Experience managing a team of planners
Contract and tender planning for a Tier 1 contractor
Fully conversant and efficient in the use of P6 planning software
Stakeholder management & experience of representing the company in front of Clients at planning and business performance meetings
Mentoring / coaching and professional development experience
