Our client is a newly developing, independent provision. Supporting children and young people aged 8-18 with Autism Spectrum Condition and Social Emotional Mental Health. Providing a bespoke, unique and exciting curriculum that nurtures and supports their students with the use of therapy assisted animals.
The successor of this vacancy will be a confident, independent professional who is and can demonstrate their commitment into supporting young people with special educational needs.
Resilience is key to this position as you must be adaptable to challenging situations and willing to use initiative when working on a 1:1 basis.
Main Roles and Responsibilities:
To work under the guidance of the class teacher to support teaching and learning in the classroom.
To provide morale and social/family support to designated young person.
To use behaviour management strategies effectively and in line with the school’s policy and procedures, which contribute to a purposeful learning environment.
To promote the inclusion of all pupils ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
