This is an exciting opportunity to join this company’s credit strategy team where you will be responsible for the design and delivery of unsecured lending, credit risk strategy, and policy across the credit lifecycle for cards, personal loans, overdrafts, and SME lending.

THE ROLE
You will be doing the following daily:
* Taking charge of and enhancing strategies across the credit lifecycle, including origination, cut-off management, affordability assessment, limit management, account management, further lending criteria, and cross-product pre-approval.
* Actively managing the risk and reward balance of all credit strategies and policies to ensure performance aligns with guardrails and risk appetite, utilising internal and external data and scoring models.
* Steering strategy approval within the appropriate governance framework and with key stakeholders.
* Effectively influencing and continuously managing relationships with key stakeholders such as Commercial, Finance, Operations, and other Risk teams.
* Generating and delivering presentations on credit risk performance and significant trends suitable for senior committees within the Bank and external regulators.
* Advocating for positive customer outcomes while identifying opportunities for automation and optimisation.
* Representing the bank in influential industry forums to drive the Group agenda and utilize engagement and benchmarking for competitiveness.
* Inspiring and engaging colleagues within a high-performing Unsecured Credit Risk team.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Extensive expertise in unsecured credit risk lending and crafting strategies within consumer lending entities.
* Previous experience forging and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
* Proven track record of translating complex methodologies and principles into insightful narratives for senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
* Experience in coaching and developing team members to ensure consistent high-quality delivery.
* Experience with developing credit scorecards and models is desirable.
* Knowledge of IFRS9, impairments, and IRB models is desirable.
