As part of our expansion, we are looking for a hands-on, proactive HSE Manager to join us at our busy manufacturing site in Wallasey. Having a “quality first approach” to all health, safety, environmental, and employee welfare issues, the HSE Manager will play a pivotal role in the business. Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver a site-wide, best-in-class health, safety, and environmental program. A naturally strong leader, you will quickly develop effective working relationships across a wide range of teams. Support the teams in developing COSHH assessments, SOP’s, risk assessments, hazard identification and rectification, as well as providing significant input into the Company’s business and health and safety strategy. Working closely with the quality team, you will help with the development and continual review of the QMS to develop, manage, and train employees on our health, safety, and environmental policies. You will ensure that health and safety is everyone’s responsibility and will develop this culture across the site. Leading the health and safety committee, ensuring appropriate permits are in place for 3rd parties/contractors, delivering effective health and safety induction to both agency and permanent employees. Develop and communicate monthly reports showing detailed data analysis of incidents, accidents, near misses, fire evacuations, training plans, 3rd party audits, and visits etc. As part of the leadership team, you will support the MD and Operations Director to deliver the strategic plan for health and safety.
About You:
An ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience, skills, and attributes. Please note that these competencies are not ranked in order of priority. Following criteria will be used in selecting a candidate.
1. Level 3 or above Health & Safety practitioner (e.g. NEBOSH general safety certificate)
2. Foundation level or above environmental qualification
3. A minimum of 5-years’ experience within a manufacturing environment
4. Experience of working in aerosols manufacturing is highly desirable – but is not essential
5. Effective leader and influencer – able to drive change
6. Self-motivated, organized with a positive “can-do” attitude
