Job Description
* Managing materials (stocks, quality, performance, legislation) to meet strict design requirements.
* Supporting, monitoring and improving associated manufacturing processes.
* Qualifying materials in accordance with recognised defence and internal standards.
* Investigating and resolving material and related manufacturing problems.
* Monitoring for material obsolescence and qualifying the replacements.
* Clearance of ingredients and finished materials for manufacturing.
* Technically supporting production on a day to day basis - compiling methods and documents to ensure compliance with configured standards.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Materials Engineer should have:
* A degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or a related field
* A good understanding of materials and their properties
* Strong problem-solving skills
* The ability to work well in a team
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Proficiency in using engineering software
