We are working with G4S Care and Justice Service to recruit Prison Custody Officers.
Location: HMP Parc, Bridgend
Hours: 40 hours or 44 hours per week
Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full Time with various shifts.
Please note that 44-hour contracts are only available after successful completion of your initial training course and will be allocated accordingly depending upon eligibility criteria

We seek to normalise prison conditions as far as possible to reflect life in the outside community. The people in your care will have a variety of different needs and it will be your role to ensure those individuals are treated with dignity and respect and helped to find a new way of life whilst maintaining a safe, secure and structured environment.
You will have a number of key responsibilities that assist Prisoner reform, as well as playing a key role in providing prisoners with structure and routine, making sure they get to work in the morning, are actively engaging in education and the prison regime and are secure in their cell in the evening.
You would also play a key role in giving prisoners structure and routine and ensuring that they are secure in the evening. You would be dealing with a wide variety of people as well as following processes and procedures in line with training and regulations.
Helping prisoners to address offending behaviour whilst reinforcing positive behaviour
A checkable personal history including periods of education, employment, travel and unemployment
Attention to detail and alert to any changes that may indicate an increased risk or unusual situation

Your initial training lasts for 8 weeks, where you will receive comprehensive training, which includes Control & Restraint, First Aid, Interpersonal skills and Health & Safety.
