About the Job
We are looking for an Industrial / Electrical Technician who will be responsible for manufacturing control cabinets, electrical harnesses, final assembly of control system components onto machines and assist with final commissioning. As an active member of the wider production team, you will be proactive in contributing to improvements and efficiency in the manufacturing process. It is a requirement to be fully competent working independently and having a sound understanding of AC and DC electrical principles, including sensors and actuators. The ability to understand complex systems and overall design is essential.
The role will report to the Workshop Manager and work closely with the Technical Solutions Manager to ensure correct manufacturing processes and quality control standards are met.
Core Experience / Skills we are looking for:
Someone who is passionate about automation and has:
* HNC/D qualification in electrical engineering or a similar discipline
* Electrical trade qualification including 18th edition and NICEIC registration
* Ideally 5+ year’s working post apprenticeship experience working in industrial factory installations or on automated machinery
* Experience working in a manufacturing environment
* Applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK without restrictions, we are unable to offer sponsorship at this present time
Desirable Experience / Skills:
* Previous experience working for OEM’s
* Instrumentation qualification
* Gantry crane licence
* Rigging experience
* Fire Training
* First Aid Certificate
* Working at Heights
Responsibilities:
* Manufacture control cabinets, electrical harnesses and looms
* Install hardware and terminate looms on machines or fixed installations
* Commission complex control systems
* Read and understand electrical schematics, cable schedules and assembly instructions
* Verify electrical designs and product specifications
* Ensure required parts for assembly are present
* Adhere to production schedules
* Take part and contribute to product development meetings
* Fault find and solve technical problems
* Work with the engineering team to assist with design for manufacture and procurement of products needed for manufacture and prototypes
* Work in a team environment and be able to supervise apprentices and trades assistants
* Ensure quality control standards are met
* Report and detail product malfunctions
* Adhere to safe assembly standards
* Ensure regulation compliance to ISO and Regulatory standards
* Ensure manufacturing process and engineering best practice is used and documented
* Provide input to design team on future product designs
* Be willing to assist mechanical crew if required
