Staff Role: Electrical Engineer
Staff role with Aberdeen based Oil & Gas operator. Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, the Electrical Engineer is a critical role delivering safe and reliable operation of equipment whilst ensuring regulatory compliance. A proactive, highly skilled individual who can work as part of a multidisciplined team. A self-starter who can work independently, is delivery focused and can successfully manage multiple interfaces and work streams. The role is within the asset team of multi-disciplined engineers.
Responsibilities:
1. Engineer experienced in supporting offshore electrical equipment.
2. Compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations.
3. Ensure electrical equipment is managed and maintained effectively with no instances of noncompliance to company or statutory requirements.
4. Responsible for maintenance & equipment rationalisation, improvements / savings relating to existing electrical equipment and technical support to the decommissioning project team.
5. Ensure engineering changes are delivered in accordance with Statutory Regulations, Health, Safety & Environmental practices.
6. Responsible for site Cat 1 documents.
7. Prioritize repairs and inspections as required.
8. Review maintenance deferrals for planned and corrective maintenance work.
9. Undertake a variety of audit and monitoring functions to establish that safe and best practice is implemented in the work assigned under the control of work system.
10. Review and input into Operational Risk Assessments.
11. Input into Management of Change process and that changes to the design and maintenance of equipment are appropriately documented.
12. Occasionally manage minor modifications.
13. Carry out engineering studies, and root cause investigations.
14. Liaise with manufacturers on aspects of equipment troubleshooting and problem-solving.
15. Support the development and implementation of improved operational, maintenance, and reliability strategies to ensure safe and reliable operation.
16. Support the implementation of obsolescence related maintenance and integrity improvements.
17. Support equipment reliability and availability reviews.
18. Provide reviews into critical and operational spares with the aim of ensuring critical spares are always available.
19. Develop SORs, review decommissioning work packs, decommissioning work programs, and technical proposals provided by 3rd parties in support of electrical work execution.
Electrical engineering Masters or Bachelor’s degree, though suitable experience may be considered to be equivalent. Chartered status desired.
